People on the Move

1/11/2013
People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has announced the appointment of Olivier Peyrat as the organization's vice president for finance. Mr. Peyrat is the first individual to serve as vice president for finance; the position was created in 2012.

Mr. Peyrat serves as the director general of AFNOR, France's national member group to ISO, and has served on the ISO Council since 2003. Prior to joining AFNOR, he worked as the director general of the French Quality Assurance Association (AFAQ), and as an advisor to the French Ministry of Industry. ISO, a network of national standards institutes representing 163 countries, is the world's largest developer and publisher of International Standards. ISO is a non-governmental organization that serves as a bridge between the public and private sectors, enabling consensus solutions that meet both the requirements of business and the broader needs of society. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) serves as the U.S. member body to ISO.

ANSI member and accredited standards developer the American Nursery and Landscape Association (ANLA) has announced that Michael Geary has been named to the position of executive vice president, replacing Bob Dolibois, who retired at the end of December 2012 following 21 years of service.

Mr. Geary previously worked as the executive director of the American Institute of Architecture Students and became the CEO of OFA—The Association of Horticulture Professionals in March 2010. He will continue to serve as OFA's CEO while carrying out the work associated with his new position at ANLA, and will split his time between OFA's offices in Columbus, Ohio, and ANLA's offices in Washington, DC. In July 2012, ANLA's Board of Directors voted to examine the possible creation of a joint trade association with OFA.

ANLA is a nonprofit national trade association representing businesses in the nursery and landscaping industries. The association provides education, research, and public relations assistance to members, allowing them to provide their customers with quality plants, landscape design and installation in an effective, efficient manner.

The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), an ANSI accredited standards developer and organizational member, has announced the promotion of three staff members to the position of vice president. Kimya Bailey Cajchun has been appointed as vice president of membership and federation relations, where she will oversee the ACCA Annual Conference and the organization's membership activities. Lynnette Singleton Russell has been named vice president of finance and controller, where she will work to bolster the ACCA's financial standing. Wes Davis has been selected to become vice president of quality assured programs, heading ACCA's accreditation of professional heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) businesses.

ACCA is a non-profit association serving more than 60,000 professionals and 4,000 businesses in the indoor environmental and energy services community across the United States. ACCA sets standards for quality comfort systems and provides education and advocacy for contractors and their employees.
