International Trade Administration Seeks Stakeholder Input for Summit on Trade-Related Standards Issues

The International Trade Administration (ITA) at the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) seeks input and participation from U.S. stakeholders, companies, private sector organizations, and trade associations that are active in trade-related standards work for a Standards Summit March 6-7, 2018, in Washington, D.C. As the administrator and coordinator of the United States private sector voluntary standardization system, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) encourages its stakeholders to submit comments byITA's deadline on December 18, 2017.

ITA published a Federal Register Notice on November 17 to solicit private sector input and participation for the summit, which will unite ITA specialists from ITA's D.C. headquarters and from its domestic and foreign field offices to develop recommendations to strengthen ITA's standards work.

ITA will consider input to improve services and programs to best meet the needs of U.S. stakeholders in the standards area. To submit input for consideration or to participate in the ITA internal summit, see notice details and submit comments by December 18, 2017.
