American Gas Association's "Playbook" Details State of the Natural Gas Industry
The American Gas Association (AGA), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has published an online playbook that provides detailed information on the history of natural gas and the current challenges and opportunities in the industry.

This 90-page online booklet contains infographics, statistics, and facts that outline the production, transmission, distribution, and use of natural gas, and the benefits that natural gas can have on the energy industry and the nation's economy. It also delves into many of the priority issues and strategies of the industry.

New ASHRAE Job Board Available for Employers and Job-Seekers
ASHRAE, an ANSI member and audited designator, has recently added a job board to its website. The board was created in response to a survey that indicated anticipated increases in business prospects for the HVACR industry in 2015.

The board allows prospective employees to set up job alerts to notify them of relevant postings, create anonymous profiles, and upload resumes. It also contains tips and tools to for more effective job searches. Meanwhile, employers can utilize the board to publicize openings to a relevant and qualified audience, search the candidate database, and limit applicants based on qualifications.

Upcoming RIA Webinar Addresses Evaluating ROI on Automation
The Robotic Industries Association (RIA), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, is hosting a webinar "How to Evaluate the ROI on Automation." The webinar will address the initial investment, ongoing costs such as training and maintenance, the total cost of ownership (TCO), and the different ways that companies approach automation investments.

The webinar can be viewed live on March 5, 2015 from noon to 1pm. It can also be viewed as a recording any time after March 5. Register for the webinar here.

IEC White Paper Addresses Infrastructure for Sustainable Smart Cities
The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), along with the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), has released a white paper on methods of orchestrating infrastructure for sustainable Smart Cities.

Smart Cities are designed to reduce emissions and handle rapid urban growth through digital technologies, engaging with citizens in sectors including transport, energy, waste, and water. However, current cities may not have the infrastructure and environment to adopt smart solutions. This white paper discusses what must be done to make cities "smarter."
