ANSI to Sponsor Free Faculty Workshop on Incorporating Standards into Capstone Design Courses

New York, Feb 11, 2005

The ANSI Committee on Education has identified establishing standards education as a high priority within the U.S. private, public and academic sectors. Current committee programs support the roll-out of a long-term university outreach strategy that will promote the integration of standards and conformity assessment content in program curricula. As part of this effort, a second workshop for American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) faculty will be presented at the ASEE Spring Mid-Atlantic Conference, April 15, 2005.

The workshop, "Incorporating Standards into Capstone Design Courses," will help define the minimum standards literacy for students. Panelist from industry and academia will provide insight in to the world of voluntary standards and discuss examples of current standardization issues from the perspective of instructional design. Educators will walk away with a better understanding of the importance of standards and a toolbox of techniques to incorporate practical standards and conformity assessment materials into their curriculum.

The workshop will be held at Farleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey. For more information about the workshop, click here.
