6/22/2011
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI), coordinator of the U.S. voluntary standardization system, is pleased to announce an agreement with SES - the Society for Standards Professionals granting complimentary, reciprocal affiliations between the two organizations.

Under the agreement, current and new SES members are automatically eligible to enroll in ANSI's affiliate membership program for one year. Benefits of ANSI affiliate membership include:

  • a personalized and professional affiliation with ANSI for one individual

  • a discount on selected standards purchased through ANSI's eStandards store

  • a subscription to What's New?, ANSI's weekly electronic newsletter

  • informational access rights to a select ANSI policy or program oversight committee

  • membership discount for ANSI-sponsored events during World Standards Week (excluding the U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day dinner)

  • access to ANSI online membership rosters

Conversely, the technical contact of all current and new ANSI full members is automatically eligible to enroll as an individual member of SES for one year, with the following benefits:

  • a personalized and professional affiliation with SES

  • electronic receipt of Standards Engineering, SES's bi-monthly journal

  • membership discounts on the SES Annual Conference registration fee, SES-sponsored continuing education courses, and SES's certification program

  • access to the SES membership directory

"ANSI and SES are longtime partners in activities that support standardization and the standards community," said Brian Meincke, ANSI's senior director of membership development, membership marketing, and industry outreach. "Building upon that shared commitment, this agreement seeks to provide additional benefits, opportunities, and advantages to our members."

Paul Crosta, president of SES, noted the longstanding relationship between the two organizations and the increased benefit to their respective members: "SES is thrilled to be partnering with ANSI for this significant milestone. As a result of this membership reciprocity, standards professionals will now have access to increased networking, training, and education. This partnership not only highlights our joint commitment to support the field of standardization, but further underscores the strength of our relationship as we move forward in time."
