ANSI Committee on Education Requests Contributions for Case Studies

New York, Jun 02, 2008

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Committee on Education (CoE) has issued a public call for contributions on case studies to be used in ANSI’s University Outreach Program. Contributions are due on June 30, 2008.

The CoE’s case study initiative will promote standards and conformity assessment-related education and training activities to colleges and universities within the global standardization community. Each case study will introduce a subject area or topic pertaining to a standardization concept or practice that is related to an industry, organization, or specific issue.

The case studies will engage students in a discussion of standardization concepts and practices, and will explore the economic and/or operational consequences of addressing or not addressing the issues or needs. The advantages and disadvantages of courses of action, along with alternatives, will be explored.

Once completed, the final case studies along with any related supplemental material will be freely available on www.StandardsLearn.org.

Recommendations for case studies should be accompanied by a project worksheet. These worksheets will act as templates for the final versions of the case studies selected.

To submit a recommendation, please email the completed project worksheet to training@ansi.org by June 30, 2008. For more information, please contact Lisa Rajchel, ANSI’s staff liason to the CoE (212.642.4932; lrajchel@ansi.org).
