REMINDER: ANSI’s World Standards Week Less Than One Month Away


New York, Sep 10, 2009

Less than one month remains until members of the standards and conformity assessment community gather for the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)’s World Standards Week (WSW). The week of forums, meetings, and ceremonies will be held October 5-8, 2009, primarily at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

Held annually, WSW brings all stakeholders in the standards and conformity assessment community together in the spirit of cooperation and collaboration. This year’s program of events will include:

Monday, October 5

  • ANSI Intellectual Property Rights Policy Committee (IPRPC) Meeting, 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (to be held at the American Institute of Architects in Washington, DC)
  • Joint ANSI International Policy Committee (IPC) IPRPC Working Lunch, 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. (to be held at the American Institute of Architects in Washington, DC)
  • ANSI IPC Meeting, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. (to be held at the American Institute of Architects in Washington, DC)

Tuesday, October 6

Wednesday, October 7

  • ANSI Organizational Member Forum, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • ANSI Government Member Forum, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • ANSI Consumer Interest Forum, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • ANSI Company Member Forum, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • ANSI Annual Business Meeting Luncheon, 12:00 to 1:30 p.m.
  • U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day 2009, 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. (to be held at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC)

Thursday, October 8

  • ANSI National Policy Committee Meeting, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (to be held at the Consumer Electronics Association in Arlington, VA)
