Mark Your Calendars: World Standards Week 2008 Program Now Available

Celebration of ANSI’s 90th Anniversary Slated for Thursday, October 23

World Standards Week 2008 The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is pleased to announce the final program of events for World Standards Week 2008.

Scheduled for Monday, October 20 to Thursday, October 23, 2008, World Standards Week will be held at the North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Advance registration is required for all events.

Held annually, World Standards Week provides an opportunity for members of the diverse U.S. standardization community to come together in the spirit of collaboration and celebration for a series of forums, meetings, and ceremonies. This year’s program of events will include:

Monday, October 20

  • Patent Group, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Tuesday, October 21

  • ANSI International Policy Committee (IPC), 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • ANSI Intellectual Property Rights Policy Committee (IPRPC), 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Wednesday, October 22

  • Copyright Group, 8:00 to 11:00 a.m.
  • ANSI Company Member Forum, 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • ANSI Consumer Interest Forum, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • ANSI Legal Issues Forum, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
  • 2008 ANSI Annual Awards Reception, Banquet Ceremony, 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. (black tie optional)

Thursday, October 23

  • ANSI Joint Member Forum, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • ANSI Annual Business Meeting Luncheon, 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.
  • ANSI Company Member Forum, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
  • ANSI Organizational Member Forum, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
  • ANSI Government Member Forum, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
  • U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day 2008, 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. (to be held at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC)

This year’s Annual Business Meeting Luncheon will marry an overview of ANSI’s current pursuits and milestones with a celebration of the Institute’s 90th anniversary. The celebration will highlight ANSI’s accomplishments since its formation in 1918, featuring a video presentation of the Institute’s history.
