ANSI Announces 2015 Training Schedule for Accreditation Workshops

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) invites all interested stakeholders to attend the Personnel Certification Accreditation workshop, the Certificate Issuers' Accreditation workshop, and the Product Certification Training workshop, all open for online registration now. Accreditation by an independent , impartial, and globally recognized third party provides assurance that your certification program that meets requirements defined in U.S. and international standards and engaged in a continuous quality improvement, .

Personnel Certification Accreditation Workshop: Understanding the Requirements of ANSI/ISO 17024

This workshop will provide information about ISO/IEC 17024:2012, General requirements for bodies operating certification schemes for persons. The two-day course is intended for all organizations considering accreditation by ANSI toISO/IEC 17024, an international standard increasingly recognized by the U.S. government, the certification industry, and employers..

The course will be held on the following dates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at ANSI's headquarters in Washington, D.C.:

  • May 21-22

  • June 22-23

  • September 10-12

  • October 8-9

  • December 9-10


Attendees will learn from recognized experts about the requirements in the latest 2012 edition of /ISO/IEC 17024. Registrants will participate in presentations, small group discussions, and exercises to get a better understanding of what ANSI expects organizations to provide as demonstration of compliance to each of the requirements. In addition, attendees will be able to self-assess their own operations, and identify areas needing improvement prior to applying for ANSI accreditation.

Certificate Issuers' Accreditation Workshop

This two-day course is designed to educate stakeholders about the American National Standard ANSI/ASTM E2659-09, Standard Practice for Certificate Programs, and the requirements for developing a quality education/training course that has an assessment at the end in order to determine if the learning outcomes have been achieved. Corporations, organizations, government agencies, and those issuing "certificates" based on training or education course(s) are invited to enroll in the workshop. HR directors who accept individuals with "certificates" within their organizations are also invited to participate.

The course will be held on the following dates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at ANSI's headquarters in Washington, D.C.:

  • June 1-2

  • September 29-30

  • November 16-17

Instructors are nationally recognized experts in the field of training and education leading to a certificate. Participants will learn the terminology, significance, and use of the E2659 standard; requirements for certificate issuers and certificate program use; the significance and use of the standard to the education and training community, individuals, and consumers; and best practices and other resources that can be helpful in building an understanding of the standard.

Product Certification - ISO/IEC17065 Training Workshop: Understanding the Requirements and Concepts of ISO/IEC 17065

Designed to present the conformity assessment concepts defined in ISO/IEC 17065, Conformity assessment - Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services, this course will highlight the standard's requirements and benefits, and provide insight into why the standard has become the international benchmark for product certification. It will also provide participants with the information they need to initiate a self-assessment process that will identify strengths—and gaps-in organizational policies and procedures.

The course will be held on the following dates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at ANSI's headquarters in Washington, D.C.:

  • April 9-10

  • August 6-7

  • November 19-20

Representatives of corporations, organizations, scheme owners, government agencies, and others who operate product/process/services certification programs or who wish to learn more about the ANSI accreditation process are invited to enroll.

Participants will review the accreditation requirements of ISO/IEC 17065; define terminology and identify documents, best practices, and other resources that can be helpful in building an understanding of the standard; identify what content (including types of documents and data) may be helpful in demonstrating compliance with each requirement and how this content is reviewed during an assessment; and other essential topics related to the standard.
