The Standardization Administration of China (SAC), China's member body to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), has submitted a proposal for a new international standard focusing on requirements for audit data collection. As the U.S. member body to ISO, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) invites all interested stakeholders to submit comments on the proposal by Friday, December 26, 2014.
The proposed International Standard aims to resolve common problems faced by auditors, and to improve the accessibility and transparency of audit data. Further, the project aims to standardize the collecting mode of audit data, avoid duplicative efforts, and effectively save social resources. According to SAC, the standardization of audit data format at the global level will facilitate good auditing practice in many countries and will improve internal and public audits, particularly with respect to the transparency and efficiency of transnational audits.
All comments on this proposal should be sent to Steven Cornish, ANSI senior director for international policy ([email protected]). Feedback received by the December 26 deadline will be reviewed and compiled for the recommended ANSI position and comment, which will then be presented to the ANSI ISO Council for formal approval.
