Reminder: Interactive Workshop to Examine Emerging Chemical Issues

Members of the business, scientific, and technical communities, environmental health and safety specialists, and government officials are encouraged to register for a September 26-27 forum at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) campus in Gaithersburg, MD, to explore the impact of chemical-related regulations and standards on domestic and international commerce.

Jointly hosted by NIST and industry partners, Innovation and Competitiveness: a Strategic Approach to Emerging Chemical Issues, brings together key stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaboration in promoting policies and agendas that will enhance the competitiveness of U.S. industry. Outcomes of the event are expected to include recommendations for coordinated actions, strategies, and plans for implementation.

The interactive workshop will encompass two days of keynote addresses, presentations, and breakout sessions led by top industry and government experts. Frances Schrotter, senior vice president and chief operating officer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) will be a featured speaker at the event.

Participation is open to all stakeholders—including chemical manufacturers, users, and consumers in major manufacturing sectors; standards developers; environmental health and safety organizations, state and federal government officials, trade associations and the scientific community.

Along with NIST, the event is co-sponsored by ANSI and its Company Member Forum, the American Chemical Society, ASTM International, the Automotive Industry Action Group, and NSF International.
