Progress Report examines efforts over six months by standards
developing organizations and others to address the gaps identified in the Standardization Roadmap for Unmanned
Aircraft Systems (version 2.0, June 2020), published by the ANSI Unmanned
Aircraft Systems Standardization Collaborative (UASSC).

specifications and standards benefit our society, and help the DOD
deliver
advanced
capabilities to warfighters.
In an effort to increase stakeholder engagement and
collaboration and reduce duplicative work, the International Organization for
Standardization (ISO), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and
the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) have coordinated the
publication of a monthly document that lists all new work items from the three
organizations, including updates on the projects and timelines for the
technical committees' work.

Eleven organizations joined a federation that represents and
serves the diverse interests of more than 270,000 companies and well over 30
million professionals.
A new year gives ANSI an opportunity to reflect on some of
the ways in which our collaborative work has helped bolster standards efforts—for
innovation, competition, and for the next generation—in 2022. ANSI pays tribute
to several newsworthy achievements made possible with the help of the
standardization community.
People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level trail-blazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community. In this issue:
- The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) has named Michael Johnson as chief representative for its Beijing representative office.
- IAPMO R&T Lab, a third-party listing agency specializing in plumbing and mechanical products, has hired Jaime Young as its quality filter lab director as part of its acquisition of New Jersey-based Quality Filter Testing Laboratory.
