Know a leader who deserves recognition for their contributions to standards development, conformity assessment, or workforce development? The call for nominations for ANSI’s 2022 Leadership and Service Awards is open through June 24! Nominate individuals today for recognition at the ANSI Awards Ceremony during the 2022 World Standards Week events (October 10-14, 2022).

Distinguished Members of the Standardization Community Honored at the 2020-2021 ANSI Awards Banquet And Ceremony

ANSI congratulates 28 leaders of the U.S. and global voluntary standards and conformity assessment community who were honored at the 2020-2021 ANSI Awards Banquet and Ceremony on May 18. The awards program is a long-standing tradition that honors creativity, dedication, and vision in standardization. 

ANSI and Workcred Honor the Life of Stephen Crawford, Board Member and Friend

Workcred and ANSI are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Dr. Steven Crawford—a staunch advocate of workforce development, member of Workcred’s board of directors, and former member of ANSI’s board of directors. 

ANSI Legal Issues Forum Explores Standards and Conformity Assessment for Forensic Science

More than 250 in-person and virtual attendees came together to discuss the unique interplay between forensic standards, conformity assessment, and the law at the May 19 ANSI Legal Issues Forum.

Register for an International Workshop on Net-Zero Guiding Principles

ANSI encourages relevant stakeholders to attend an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) workshop focused on the development of an International Workshop Agreement on “Net-Zero Guiding Principles.” Hosted by the British Standards Institution, the workshop will be held virtually in two identical sessions on July 13, 2022. Registration is required.

U.S. Standardization Community Gathers in Celebration of World Standards Day

Celebrating standardization’s role in advancing the United Nations' Sustainable Goals, members of the broader U.S. standardization community gathered on May 19 for the rescheduled 2021 U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day. The event included the ceremonial passing of the baton from the 2021 administering organization, the National Fire Protection Association, to the 2022 administrating organization, the International Code Council.

Standards Alliance Convenes Sixth Session of Its Cosmetics Standardization Web-series

On May 9, 2022, the Standards Alliance: Phase 2 — a public-private partnership program between ANSI and the U.S. Agency for International Development — held the sixth session of its Cosmetics Standardization Web-series in coordination with the African Organization for Standardization and Personal Care Products Council.
