Last Chance: Nominate Exceptional Standards Achievers for ANSI Awards

Nominate exceptional standardization professionals for the ANSI 2022 Leadership and Service Awards by June 24. ANSI will present the awards at a banquet and ceremony on October 12, 2022, at The Fairmont Washington, Washington, DC, during the fall 2022 World Standards Week events.

Register for June 22 Joint Organizational Member Forum and Government Member Forum Meeting

It’s not too late to register for the upcoming hybrid joint meeting of the Organizational Member Forum and Government Member Forum. The meeting is being held both online and in-person at AAMI headquarters in Arlington, VA.

ANSI and Cross-Sector Partners Promote Cooperation on Medical Device Regulatory Practices at 9th Summit of the Americas

Representatives of ANSI were among the featured participants at the 9th Summit of the Americas on June 5–8, 2022, in Los Angeles. The summit brought together public- and private-sector representatives from across the Americas for presentations and discussions on national quality infrastructure, good regulatory practices, national policy reform, and the importance of global partnerships.

Gaps Progress Report Available: ANSI UASSC Standardization Roadmap For Unmanned Aircraft Systems

ANSI has announced the availability of a Gaps Progress Report tracking efforts by standards developing organizations and others to address the gaps identified in the Standardization Roadmap for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (version 2.0, June 2020), published by the ANSI Unmanned Aircraft Systems Standardization Collaborative (UASSC).

Call for Comments: U.S.–Taiwan Initiative on 21st-Century Trade

The United States Trade Representative released a request for comments on the proposed U.S.–Taiwan Initiative on 21st-Century Trade. ANSI seeks feedback from its members and relevant stakeholders by June 29, 2022.

Liz Mendez of Kaiser Permanente Joins Workcred Board of Directors

Workcred, an affiliate of ANSI focused on advancing quality workforce credentials, is pleased to announce that Elizabeth (Liz) Mendez has joined the Workcred board of directors for a three-year term, effective immediately.

EPA Launches Voluntary Consensus Standards Website

Highlighting the agency's commitment to using and participating in voluntary consensus standards (VCS) and conformity assessment activities, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has launched a new informational website. The site provides an overview of EPA’s engagement in the development of voluntary consensus standards and specific examples of successful implementation of VCS for diverse EPA objectives.

Office of Science and Technology Policy Requests Information on Advancing Privacy-Enhancing Technologies

To help inform development of a national strategy on privacy-preserving data sharing and analytics and associated policy initiatives, the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) requests public input on methods for responsibly harnessing the benefits of data sharing and analytics while protecting and preserving privacy. Submit comments by July 8, 2022.

EPA Seeks Public Input on Guidelines for Voluntary Battery Labeling and Battery Collection for Recycling

As part of efforts to develop best practices for the collection of batteries to be recycled, and to help inform a program to promote battery recycling through the development of voluntary labeling guidelines for batteries, the EPA is requesting information on the end-of-life management of batteries. Submit comments by July 11, 2022.

USAID to Host Webinar on Good Regulatory Practices and Creative Regulation for Entrepreneurship

ANSI encourages its members and relevant stakeholders to register for an upcoming United States Agency for International Development webinar exploring “Good Regulatory Practices and Creative Regulation for Entrepreneurship.”
