He served as project manager/engineer, managing fossil fuel, nuclear, and renewable energy power plants. He also previously worked for a major oil company in the chemical division as a process engineer in the production facility. He holds a bachelor's of science in chemical engineering from Lehigh University and an MBA from Adelphi University.

He is also a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), SES - The Society for Standards Professionals, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).

His many contributions to the development of safety standards as well as his personal integrity and commitment to the public interest have been recognized by his colleagues across industry sectors and by his friends and colleagues in the ANSI Federation.

ANSI wishes Bob the best in his retirement from NFPA, and looks forward to more of his outstanding contributions to the voluntary standardization community.
