Seeking U.S. Stakeholders: Participate in the ANSI-Accredited U.S. TAG to ISO PC 337, Guidelines for the Promotion and Implementation of Gender Equality

1/28/2022

Responses are requested by February 11, 2022

To assure that all interested U.S. parties have an opportunity to contribute to the U.S. position on key issues considered by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Project Committee (PC) 337, Guidelines for the promotion and implementation of gender equality, U.S. stakeholders are encouraged to participate in the ANSI-accredited U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to ISO PC 337. Responses are requested by February 11, 2022.

Underwriters Laboratories Inc. has applied to be accredited by ANSI to serve as administrator of the U.S. TAG to ISO PC 337. As the U.S. TAG administrator, Underwriters Laboratories Inc. would be responsible for transmitting the official U.S. position to proposals under the responsibility of ISO/PC 337, and for bringing to ISO any new work items that would support broad efforts in the U.S. relative to this area of standardization.

Participation in the U.S. TAG is open to all U.S. national interested parties who are directly and materially affected by the scope of ISO PC 337’s activity:

Standardization in the field of gender equality with the aim of developing a technical guidance on how to promote and implement gender equality in all types of organizations, public or private, regardless of their size, location and field of activity.

ISO PC 337 develops guidelines covering concepts, terms and definitions; the identification of existing good practices; and the definition of actions, strategies, policies for the promotion and implementation of gender equality. Related standardization work on diversity in human resources management as covered by ISO Technical Committee (TC) 260, Human resources management, is excluded from the work of ISO PC 337.

Individuals who are interested in becoming a member of the ANSI-accredited U.S. TAG to ISO TC 337 are invited to contact Sonya Bird at [email protected].
