Small Business Stakeholders Invited to Attend the U.S.-EU SME Workshop in Augsburg, Germany

Small business stakeholders who would like to connect and discuss relevant topics with international small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and government officials from the U.S., the European Commission, and EU Member States are invited to attend the 11th U.S.-EU SME Workshop. The event, hosted by the European Union this year in Augsburg, Germany, will be held on September 28.

Each year, the U.S. and EU alternate hosting this conference, which is convened by the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, the Department of Commerce, and the Small Business Administration with the European Commission’s Directorate General for Trade and Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs.

This year’s theme is “SMEs Rising: Recovery Together on Both Sides of the Atlantic.” Topics for discussion will include:

  • Promoting SME growth through U.S.-EU trade opportunities
  • Empowering SME, standards, and scale-ups including an update on the work of the U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council with regard to promoting SME access and the use of digital tools
  • SME access to finance
  • Creating an environment for SMEs to succeed during the post-pandemic transition through economic development and workforce development strategies

Attendance is available for SME stakeholders from the U.S. and European Union. Participants must cover their own travel expenses and accommodations.
