Bridging Coordination and Collaboration Gaps in International Standardization: Register for IEC-ISO-ITU Virtual Workshop on January 24

To bring together experts to share perspectives on the importance of coordination and collaboration in international standardization, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and International Telecommunications Union (ITU) will hold an IEC-ISO-ITU Standardization Programme Coordination Group (SPCG) workshop on “Bridging the Coordination and Collaboration Gap,” on January 24, 2023, from 7 am – 10 am ET.

The virtual workshop will examine global challenges in international standardization in the scope of IEC, ISO, and ITU-T, how to best bridge coordination and collaboration gaps, and the role and achievements of the SPCG. Experts from the IEC-ISO-ITU Joint Smart Cities Task Force (J-SCTF) will share experiences related to technical coordination, and representatives of ISO/IEC JTC 1, Information technology, SC 42, Artificial intelligence, and ITU-T Study Group 16, Multimedia and related digital technologies, will discuss the coordination challenges related to artificial intelligence and machine learning. The event will also provide a platform for the audience to share their own challenges and expectations.

The workshop is relevant to members of the IEC Standardization Management Board, ISO Technical Management Board, ITU-T Telecommunication Standardization Advisory Group, leadership teams of technical committees, and study groups in the IEC, ISO, and ITU-T, and is free and open to all interested experts.
