Product/Process/Service Certification:  Understanding the Requirements and Concepts of ISO/IEC 17065:2012

December 6–7, 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. ET

Register by December 4: The two-day online ISO/IEC 17065 Training Course is designed to present conformity assessment concepts for the certification of products, processes, and services as defined in ISO/IEC 17065, Conformity assessment - Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services. Course content provides the certification body, scheme owners, and others interested in certification of products, processes, and services with an understanding of the requirements presented in ISO/IEC 17065 through practical examples and class exercises. 

Attendees will:

• Review the accreditation requirements of ISO/IEC 17065
• Identify the content (including types of documents and data) that may be helpful in demonstrating compliance with each requirement and how this content is reviewed during an assessment
• Define terminology and identify documents, best practices, and other resources that can be helpful in building an understanding of the standard
• Become familiar with the ANAB accreditation process and its reliance on ISO/IEC 17065, and ISO/IEC 17011, Conformity assessment - General requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies

Relevant stakeholders include representatives of corporations, organizations, scheme owners, government agencies, and others who operate product, process, and service certification programs or who wish to learn more about the ANAB accreditation process.

Personnel Certification:  Understanding the Requirements and Concepts of ISO/IEC 17024:2012

December 7–8, 9:00 - 4:30 p.m. ET

Register by December 1: This two-day online course is designed to introduce organizations considering accreditation by ANAB to the international standard ISO/IEC 17024, General requirements for bodies operating certification schemes for persons. This standard is a globally-accepted benchmark for bodies managing the certification of persons and is being increasingly recognized by the U.S. federal government, the certification industry, and organized labor.

Through presentations, small group discussions, and exercises, attendees will have the opportunity to:

• Analyze each of the requirements in ISO/IEC 17024
• Understand what ANAB expects organizations to provide as demonstration of compliance to each of the requirements
• Hear case studies from accredited certification bodies on how to successfully navigate the application process for ANAB accreditation
• Develop self-assessment skills to conduct a gap analysis for your organization to identify areas of improvement and form an action plan
• Discuss best practices and mistakes made by certification programs in program design and implementation as well as tips for how to control costs while maintaining quality
• Learn about new paradigms in personnel certification and better understand the evolving credentialing landscape
• Understand the ANAB accreditation process, which is guided by ISO/IEC 17011, Conformity assessment - General requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies
