The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) has named Michael Johnson as chief representative for its Beijing representative office.
“Michael brings a wealth of global experience to the chief representative role,” said Tom Costabile, executive director and CEO, ASME. Prior to ASME, Johnson directed a worldwide team of professionals, executed international strategic alliances, and traveled extensively to Asia, Europe, and Africa.
“ASME has built a strong presence in China since the 1980s, and we continue to strengthen our working relationships with the partners we have made throughout the years,” said Costabile. “As chief representative, Michael will build on these partnerships and reinforce ASME’s commitment to international collaboration and our vision to be an essential resource for technical professionals throughout the world—all while fulfilling our mission to advance engineering for the benefit of humanity.”
IAPMO R&T Lab, a third-party listing agency specializing in plumbing and mechanical products, has hired Jaime Young as its quality filter testing lab director as part of its acquisition of New Jersey-based Quality Filter Testing Laboratory.
Young is a recognized expert in developing testing methods and has consulted with manufacturers on their research and development initiatives. He has experience testing all sizes of filters and filter systems. He will operate the lab in New Jersey.
