People on the Move

9/28/2023

People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level trailblazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community.

The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) has announced that Tim White has joined the association as vice president of engineering and technology.

White joins AIA from his previous position as principal at the Aerospace & Defense Industry, where he was responsible for assisting clients to implement cutting edge solutions to mitigate risk. During his career, he has also served in a variety of roles across engineering, operations, supply chain, and quality leadership with companies including Raytheon, Honeywell, and Bechtel.

“With the ever-changing nature of the industry, Tim’s extensive background in innovative technologies up and down the supply chain will amplify AIA’s commitment to providing strategic direction to both our members and government stakeholders, preserving global competitiveness, and maintaining U.S. leadership in innovation,” said Eric Fanning, AIA’s president and CEO.

The Manufacturers Standardization Society (MSS) has announced the appointment of Lorna Soderberg as executive director. She has served as MSS operations manager for the past three years.

Soderberg brings expertise in membership support, board management, overseeing projects and programs, and office management. Previously, she was a membership coordinator at the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO).

"Lorna has very effectively demonstrated her business and leadership skills in this position,” said president of the MSS board of directors Jim Barker. “She was instrumental in planning and executing a successful 2023 Annual Meeting, implemented a new AMS and website, and oversaw the sale of the MSS headquarters building."

"I have enormous respect for MSS and what the Society has accomplished since it was formed in 1924," said Soderberg. “I'm excited to lead the organization into an even more successful second century."
