Matthew Principe joined the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as its director of human resources in May. He succeeds Larry Castiglione, who retired in April after nearly 20 years with the Institute.
Principe is a dynamic human resources professional with two decades of experience guiding mission-driven organizations through strategic people operations. He has extensive expertise in employee and labor relations, recruitment and selection, training and development, benefits and compensation, employee engagement and retention, organizational development, and change management.
Previously, Principe served as associate director, HR business partner at Consumer Reports. There, he played a pivotal role in fostering a fair and just workplace aligned with the organization’s broader mission to empower and protect consumers. Prior to this, Principe served as HR partner at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), where he contributed to the growth and sustainability of the environmental advocacy group.
His leadership roots extend across diverse sectors—including health, education, housing, and technology—with senior roles at Housing Works, VillageCare, Stevens Institute of Technology, and Bon Secours Health System.
Warren Hamrick has been promoted to director of the market access and development division at APA- The Engineered Wood Association. He succeeds Robert Kuserk, who retired after nine years of service with the association.
Hamrick has been with APA for over nine years. He previously served as the association’s engineered wood specialist and engineered wood territory lead, where he built lasting relationships with building professionals and educated them on best practices for using engineered wood products.
