A new article authored by Workcred's Karen Elzey, associate executive director, examines how Workcred collaborated with The University of Texas System (UT System) to develop four case studies that provide examples of multiple approaches for integrating microcredentials into undergraduate programs at UT System’s institutions.
“Microcredentials are used to meet a variety of needs that range from rounding out and enriching a degree program, fostering persistence and retention, demonstrating competency in technical skills, to enhancing employability outcomes,” Elzey wrote. “Thus, they are well-suited to be responsive to skills needed in the labor market, able to be developed quickly, and can support innovation.”
