The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has published a document detailing how requirements and strategies for LEED v4.1 correspond to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals are 17 objectives that support a more sustainable world by 2030. The UN has also developed a formal series of targets and indicators for nation-states to demonstrate progress. “Tracking Progress on Global Goals,” the new document from the USGBC, demonstrates how these targets, indicators, and goals align with LEED v4.1 for cities and communities. Readers will learn how specific LEED v4.1 categories, prerequisites, and credits support each of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
