The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) has united with CableLabs as a subsidiary of the organization. The transaction will go into effect on January 1, 2021.
The SCTE and CableLabs boards of directors voted unanimously on the agreement, which was also met with overwhelming support by SCTE members. Through this union, the organizations can increase their alignment of investment, resources, and innovations as they work to accelerate broadband development. The International Society of Broadband Experts (ISBE), SCTE’s global arm, will also become a subsidiary of CableLabs.
“The increased alignment that will come out of this relationship is critical,” said Mark Dzuban, president and CEO of SCTE•ISBE. “Streamlining vendor and international relationships creates efficiencies in connecting implementation, best practices, needs, and allocation of resources across the industry. We’re proud to join the CableLabs family.”
