The Consumer Technology Association (CES) has released a new report on U.S. consumer sentiment surrounding electric vehicles (EVs).
The study’s results indicate that nearly 40 percent of consumers driving gasoline-powered cars are open to considering a hybrid, plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) or battery-powered electric vehicle (BEV) for their next purchase. The vast majority – 92% – of current EV drivers say they are likely or very likely to purchase another EV for their next vehicle. 76% of EV owners say their next vehicle is likely or very likely to be a PHEV. EV drivers value cost savings the most, followed by reduced maintenance, in choosing to drive an EV.
