Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRI International) has released its 7th annual predictions report that offers insights into 2022 for the resilience community. Included in the report are predictions about the potential return to a conventional in-office working model.
The report predicts that companies will see strong resistance to a full return of the conventional office working model. Companies will need to be flexible in accommodating employees that seek a greater work-life balance; however, there will not be a total end to office work as employees will return to build contacts and relationships for professional advancement. There could also be an increasing digital divide between blue collar jobs that must be done on-site, and white collar information workers who can work remotely, potentially leading to social friction, inequality, and reduced social mobility.
