NFPA Publishes Tips and Resources for National Electrical Safety Month

5/24/2022

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has published an article outlining tips and information on electrical hazards for National Electrical Safety Month, sponsored by the Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI) each May.

NFPA states that contact with electricity is a leading cause of home and workplace injuries and fatalities, and suggests that homeowners have all electrical work done by a qualified electrician; use surge protectors; and perform regular testing of ground-fault circuit interrupters and breakers based on manufacturers instruction. The article also includes resources for professionals including training and response guides, a photovoltaic and energy storage systems training series, and relevant fact sheets.
