The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) has released a new forecast that projects U.S. technology industry sales and shipments for 2022.
The projection indicates that sales and shipment volumes will drop -0.2%, returning them to pre-pandemic levels following 2021’s historic surge in technology purchases. While sales and shipment volumes are projected to decline, revenues will remain above pre-pandemic levels. The report also projects that technology sectors to drive growth in 2022 will include 5G/smartphones, gaming, smart home technology, and health technology.
