NERC Releases Long-Term Reliability Assessment on Energy and Capacity Risks in Energy Transition

1/05/2023

The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) has published its “2022 Long-Term Reliability Assessment” for all stakeholders to access at no cost.

The report highlights the critical importance of reliability for resource and system planners in North America during the energy transition. It identifies energy and capacity risks that planners and operators of the grid must consider, and provides a map indicating areas of high risk (risk of energy shortfalls exists in normal peak demand conditions) and areas of elevated risk (risk of energy shortfalls exists in severe hot or cold weather).

Visit NERC’s website to view the full assessment.
