FTC Launches Activities for National Consumer Protection Week

3/03/2023

In recognition of the annual National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has announced several in-person and virtual initiatives, including webinars, workshops, a town hall discussion, and more to help people understand their consumer rights and avoid frauds and scams.

NCPW, recognized this year from March 5-11, 2023, helps individuals and businesses learn about their consumer rights and how to keep themselves secure. FTC and its NCPW partners provide free resources to protect consumers from fraud, scams, and identity theft.

Events include a webinar about top frauds reported in 2022 with a special focus on how they affect older adults and how to protect people from scams, among other campaign activities.

The FTC will also provide updates on social media with the handle @FTC with quick, shareable consumer tips all week long, and an NCPW Twitter chat with the hashtag #NCPW2023 on March 8 at 3 p.m. ET.

Access additional promotions and activities on the FTC NCPW webpage.
