In preparation for the 43rd annual Building Safety Month in May, the International Code Council (ICC) has released new social media tips and resources including safety tips, promotional graphics, and lesson plans for elementary school students.
Building Safety Month is an international campaign that aims to raise awareness about the importance of building codes in assuring safety in the spaces people live, work, play, and learn. The 2023 Building Safety Month theme is, “Building Safety Starts with You!” ICC has also released weekly themes to commemorate the month:
“Building safety is something many people take for granted,” said ICC chief executive officer Dominic Sims. “By becoming more aware of building codes and the important role they play in the built environment, we can take an active part in keeping our homes, schools, businesses, and communities safe and sustainable.”
Access resources, promotional materials, tips for hosting an in‑person Building Safety Month event, and more on ICC’s website.
