ULSE Podcast Highlights Aligning Standards with UN SDGs

5/10/2023

UL Standards & Engagement’s (ULSE) latest W.O.R.D. to the WISE podcast showcases the organization's initiative to align its standards catalog and standards development process with the United Nations' (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The UN SDGs serve as a call to action for all nations to promote health, safety, and prosperity while protecting the planet by the year 2030. At the center of UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development are 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

The podcast features ULSE director of technology and systems David Wroth and standards planning analyst Grace Callahan, who share more about ULSE’s publication, “The UN SDGs and UL Standards & Engagement: A Report.” The report highlights the role of international companies in achieving the goals set forth in the UN agenda, and sheds light on research into UL standards, including the quantitative and qualitative methods ULSE used to determine which UL standards directly or indirectly align with one or more SDGs.
