The Acoustical Society of America (ASA) podcast has a new episode with ASA Standards—the branch of the Society that is involved in standards development and initiatives.
Host Kat Setzer speaks with ASA standards director Steve Lind, along with Donald Peterson of Northern Illinois University and Derrick Knight of Trane Technologies, on how standards support the dynamic acoustics community. They discuss ways that standards can drive organizations’ and industries’ strategic goals, and outline how acoustics professionals can get involved in standards development. Listeners will also hear about new efforts to increase the use of acoustics standards in higher education curriculum through partnerships with educational institutions, national standards bodies, and other professional organizations.
