The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)’s recent ASMETechCast sheds light on the advantages and limits of large-scale 3D printers and equipment used in building affordable housing.

The episode features insights from Zachary Mannheimer, CEO of Alquist 3D, which is building concrete homes in Greeley, CO, with 3D printers. The CEO talks about how his company is partnering with a local community college to build a curriculum to teach best 3D printing practices. He also discusses the need to stand up a 3D-printed housing industry and build a workforce, along with the current limits of large-scale 3D printers and associated equipment.
