In recognition of National Consumer Protection Week, the Federal Trade Commission has launched a number of resources and need-to-know information for consumers to avoid frauds and scams.
NCPW, recognized this year from March 3-9, 2024, helps individuals and businesses learn about their consumer rights and how to keep their information secure.
Highlighted events this year include several webinars and sessions:
March 6 Sessions:
A Facebook Live conversation will discuss veterans and fraud on March 7 at 3:00 p.m. ET, and a Facebook Live on March 8 at 9:45 a.m. ET, will cover the FTC’s new resources in multiple languages, in addition to English and Spanish.

ANSI Also Supports Consumer Safety during National Consumer Protection Week
As part of its effort to support consumer safety and to showcase how consumers contribute to standards development, ANSI is hosting a free Consumer Safety Central Webinar on April 9 at 2:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. ET. The session on Zoom will feature the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s consumer ombudsman Jonathan Midgett and ANSI’s consumer outreach manager Cleo Stamatos, who will discuss the importance of standards development and highlight why consumer participation is so important.
