The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)’s latest episode of ASME TechCast features a discussion about how artificial intelligence (AI) can make sense of the torrent of data streaming from industrial sensors.
The sensors and connected systems that make up the Internet of Things (IoT) produce more data than most managers can handle, ASME reports. Jeffrey Winters, editor-in-chief of ASME’s monthly flagship publication Mechanical Engineering Magazine, chats with Rich Masulis of Wesco Industrial Automation Solutions, who reveals that engineers and production managers are missing some signals that could make their factories more efficient. Masulis discusses how AI can be trained on IoT data to produce insights for manufacturers.
