AWWA Webinar: Navigating PFAS Testing

11/22/2024

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) will host a webinar on how to navigate per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) testing.

As U.S. public water systems (PWS) face new PFAS testing regulations, choosing between in-house testing and outsourcing to a contract testing organization (CTO) becomes a strategic imperative.

The webinar will focus on the considerations for PWS when deciding to invest in internal PFAS testing labs versus outsourcing. Jeffrey Smith, director of operations, Complete Environmental Testing, and Allen D. Martin, public health scientist at the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, will share insights as expert panelists. Key takeaways of the session will include:

  • Insights from the contract lab side on what to look for when choosing a CTO
  • Collaboration strategies between PWS and CTOs to ensure timely and accurate PFAS testing
  • Real-world examples from utilities and contract labs on managing compliance and response to PFAS results

Register for the webinar, to be held on December 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ET, on AWWA’s website.
