Executive Committee

The Executive Committee reports to the ANSI Board of Directors on significant actions or proposed future plans that may impact the strategic direction of the Institute.

Overview

The mission of the ANSI Executive Committee is to. . . .

  • Approve all memberships (such as ANSI membership and membership on Institute Policy and Program Committees, Boards, etc.) other than membership on Board Committees.
  • Approve proposals (including those originating from the Board Committees and Institute Policy and Program Committees, Boards, etc.) except for proposals that in the opinion of the Executive Committee would seriously impact the strategic direction of the Institute and the federation.
  • Review and approve management’s proposals as reflected in a planning of framework document regarding the Strategic Plan before submitting the Plan or any proposed modifications thereto to the Board of Directors for final approval.

The Executive Committee, in conjunction with the Board Nominating Committee, will address issues such as needed expertise, background, leadership skills, willingness to participate actively, and inter-organizational relationships. The Nominating Committee will seek to ensure overall diversity of representatives and balance of interests on the Board.

Voting members of the ExCo include the:

  • Chair of the Board
  • Immediate Past Chair
  • Vice Chairmen
  • Chair of the Finance Committee (if not already a member of the ExCo)
  • Chairs of the ANSI Member Forums
  • Chairs of the Institute’s Policy Committees (if not already members of the ExCo)
  • The President of the USNC of the IEC
  • Up to three (3) other members of the Board as the Chair of the Board shall appoint with the approval of the Board of Directors

The ANSI president and CEO is a non-voting member of the ExCo.

Organizational Structure

The Executive Committee has the power to act for the ANSI Board of Directors between meetings of the Board and will report any such actions to the Board.

The Executive Committee can also establish additional committees, subcommittees and boards.

Meeting Calendar

The ANSI Executive Committee typically meets three (3) times per year, usually in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area.
