People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards and conformance community.

The Acoustical Society of America (ASA), a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced the appointment of Christopher J. Struck as its standards director. In this role, Mr. Struck will lead the Society's program supporting the development of acoustical standards. He will also serve as the chair of the ASA Committee on Standards.

Mr. Struck is the founder, CEO, and chief scientist of CJS Labs, a consulting firm that specializes in audio and electroacoustics applications. He has also worked for Bruel & Kjar, Charles M. Salter Associates, Inc., GN Resound Corp, Dolby Laboratories, Inc., and Tymphany Corporation. Mr. Struck is a member of the IEEE Working Group on Communication Device Electronics and the AES Working Groups on Microphones and on Loudspeakers. He also participates in many standards working groups for ASA.


Energistics, an ANSI member, has named Ross Philo as its president and CEO. He assumed the position in June.

Mr. Philo has over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including many executive management positions. He has lived and worked in 30 countries worldwide for organizations including Maersk Oil, Halliburton, and Schlumberger.

He comes to our organization with great passion for our mission, a diverse background in the energy, telecom services and technology industries, and experience in numerous leadership roles," said Ben Williams, vice president and CIO of Devon Energy and Energistics board chair. "He will be an excellent leader of Energistics and a valuable contributor to the Board's vision for standards development and global adoption in the oil and gas industry."

Energistics has also announced the appointment of Jana Schey as chief operating officer. In this role, Ms. Schey will work with external standards organizations, guide operational and adoption goals, manage the execution of the goals, and work with the CEO for the continued financial viability of the organization.

Previously, Ms. Schey served as vice president of operations for Energistics. She has worked in the oil and gas industry for 15 years, with experience in eProcurement standards and catalog management.


ANSI member BITS has named Chris Feeney its new president. Mr. Feeney heads CF Feeney Consulting, and previously served as managing director and chief information officer for LPL financial. He has executive experience at several financial and technology firms, including Thomson Financial, Bank of America, Telerate, and Multex Incorporated.

"Chris is a respected leader who brings deep technology and operating experience to this position. He will add tremendous value to our efforts to improve the nation's approach to cybersecurity, fraud, and related issues," said Tim Pawlenty, CEO of FSR.
