ISEAL Webinar to Introduce New Website on the Impacts of Standards and Certification

ISEAL, an ANSI member, has announced an upcoming webinar to introduce its new website, standardsimpacts.org.

The website will gather evidence on the impacts of sustainability standards, and serve as a tool to make a business case for certification. Readers of standardsimpacts.org will find interviews with businesses, reports, and multimedia resources that relay the impact that standards have on sustainability measures, and their effects on people and the plant.

NFPA Webinar to Explore Fire Protection for Cultural Heritage Objects

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), an ANSI member and audited designator, is holding a free webinar to present the results of a three-year project investigating fire extinguishers and cultural heritage materials.

The project sought to quantify the impact that portable fire extinguisher agents have on cultural heritage resource materials contained in libraries and museums. The information presented may be useful for museum and library conservators, fire protection engineers, and facility managers and owners who oversee the protection of cultural heritage objects.

The webinar will be held on December 8, 2016 from 12:30 to 2:00pm EST. Click here to register.

ASME On-Demand Webinar Discusses Simulation-Led, Systems-Driven Engineering

ASME, an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has posted a free on-demand webinar outlining strategies to accelerate the move to simulation-led and systems-driven engineering.

Led by presenter John Kosowatz of ASME, the presentation explores how organizations can move from discussing simulation-led engineering to implementing it with system-level physical modeling and simulation software technology. Listeners will learn about the key factors that drive the adoption of systems-modeling software; issues that may prevent engineering organizations from adopting it; and strategies to accelerate adoption and use of these tools. Speakers include Bruce Jenkins of Ora Research and Paul Goossens of Maplesoft.
