The Japanese Industrial Standards Committee (JISC), the Japanese member body to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), has submitted a proposal for a new field of technical activity on fine bubble technology. As the U.S. member body to ISO, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) invites all interested stakeholders to submit comments on the proposal by Friday, April 5, 2013.
Fine bubble technology is expected to have a significant positive effect on a diverse set of industries, including plumbing and semiconductor manufacturing. According to the new work proposal, the technical activity would focus on work related to the development of a three-layer standards system for fine bubble technology. The system would standardize terms, definitions, size classifications, and characteristics related to fine bubble technology and its industrial applications, and would apply to both fine and ultrafine bubbles.
All comments on this proposal should be sent to Steven Cornish, ANSI senior director for international policy ([email protected]). Feedback received by the April 5 deadline will be reviewed and compiled for the recommended ANSI position and comment, which will then be presented to the ANSI ISO Council for formal approval.
