People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

The InterNational Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS), an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) member and accredited standards developer, has named Phil Wennblom to the position of executive board chairman. In his new role, Mr. Wennblom will make use of knowledge and experience in the field of information technology to effectively head up the executive board and oversee its activities. He will succeed the previous chairman, Forrest D. (Don) Wright, the president of ANSI member Standards Strategies LLC.

Mr. Wennblom is currently employed as the director of standards for ANSI member Intel Corporation, where he has worked in a variety of positions since joining the company in 1984. He currently serves on the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) board of governors, the INCITS executive board, and chairs the standardization policy committee of ANSI organizational member the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI). Mr. Wennblom received his bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pennslyvania.

INCITS, a nonprofit organization operating under rules approved by ANSI, brings together IT developers, producers, and users to carry out work to advance the development and maintenance of IT technical standards. The committee serves as the ANSI approved Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) / International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Joint Technical Committee (JTC) 1, Information technology.


ANSI member and accredited standards developer the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) has announced two recent promotions among its staff. Stacey Kidd, previously ASPE's director of membership, has been named to the position of director of membership and meetings, while Pamela Rosenberg, formerly ASPE's education coordinator, has been appointed as the society's manager of education and certification.

Before joining ASPE, Ms. Kidd worked as the marketing manager for the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and was employed in a variety of positions by the Warehousing Education and Research Council, the Government Finance Officers Association, and Bostrom Corporation, among other associations. She received her bachelor of science degree in communications from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and her master's of science degree in integrated marketing communication from Illinois' Roosevelt University.

Ms. Rosenberg was previously employed as the education and special projects assistant for the National Association of Personal Finance Advisors and as the coordinator for professional education and corporate relations at the Northwestern University School of Law. She received her bachelor of science degree from Indiana University.

ASPE is an international organization dedicated to the advancement of the science of plumbing engineering and to the professional advancement of skilled individuals focusing on the design and inspection of plumbing systems. The society, which was founded in 1964, has more than 6,000 members in its 61 state, provincial, and local chapters throughout the U.S. and Canada, as well as in additional international chapters.
