ANSI Invites Stakeholder Input Regarding Formation of U.S. TAG

On July 2-6, 2012, AFNOR - the French member body to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) - will host a meeting of a newly formed ISO Technical Committee (TC) in the field of sustainable development in communities.

The scope of ISO TC 268, Sustainable development in communities, will encompass standards to encourage the development and implementation of holistic, cross-sector and area-based approaches to sustainable development in communities. The program of work will include management system requirements, guidance, and related standards.

A new subcommittee led by Japan, ISO TC 268/SC 1, Smart urban infrastructure metrics, will meet at the same time.

ANSI Invites Stakeholder Input regarding Formation of U.S. TAG
When first introduced, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) - the U.S. member body to ISO - supported the proposal to create a technical committee in the field of sustainable development in communities. Currently however, there is no U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to ISO TC 268 or its SC 1. Affected stakeholders who are interested in sponsoring the formation of a U.S. TAG to ISO TC 268, are invited to contact ANSI at [email protected].
