International Workshop to Address Impact-Rated Vehicle Security Barriers

9/10/2010
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) would like to inform its constituents of an upcoming workshop on international impact-rated vehicle security barriers. The two-day meeting will be held in London this December.

Organized by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the British Standards Institution (BSI), the aim of the workshop is to develop an international standard taking into account existing standards and technical documents on vehicle security barriers. An International Workshop Agreement (IWA) will be produced after this event based on the discussions at the meeting. Objectives of the workshop include:

  • Discuss the existing standards and technical documents (as identified by participants) on vehicle security barriers
  • Agree on the terminology for use in the IWA
  • Draft the structure of the IWA
  • Begin drafting the provisions of the IWA

The meeting will be held on December 2-3, 2010, at the BSI headquarters in London. To view the draft agenda, click here.

Registration is free for all interested participants. Space is limited, so each organization interested in participating may register up to two participants. More may be accepted by request, if space allows. To register, complete the registration form and email it to [email protected] by Monday, October 4, 2010.

If you have any technical documents (specifications, guides, etc.) that you would like to submit for consideration in the development of this IWA, please email them to [email protected] with appropriate approval for circulation to the IWA participants of any copyrighted material by October 4.
