People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards and conformance community.

The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has named Mark Trimble vice president of certification. In this role, Mr. Trimble will manage the AISC Certification Program, which certifies fabricators, erectors, and manufacturers of buildings, bridges, bridge components, and hydraulic structures.

Prior to joining AISC, Mr. Trimble was a vice president at Huntington Steel & Supply Company. He has served on the AISC Board of Directors, as well as the Board of the West Virginia Society of Professional Engineers. Mr. Trimble has been the chair of the planning committee for the NASCC: The Steel Conference for the past four years. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky.

"I'm excited to have Mark join the team at AISC," said AISC president Charles J. Carter. "His perspective as an engineer and a fabricator will help us to better serve the needs of those who participate in the AISC Certification Program, and the needs of those who specify it. It also will help AISC better serve our customers and members in all the other activities we undertake, as well."

The Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed), an ANSI member, has announced that Juan-Jose Gonzalez is the new head of its Orthopedics Sector. Mr. Gonzalez will help oversee and lead the regulatory and reimbursement advocacy priorities of AdvaMed's orthopedic member companies.

Mr. Gonzales is president of U.S. DePuy Synthes, part of Johnson & Johnson's family of companies. There, he leads a more than $5B orthopedic business. He has been with Johnson & Johnson for a decade, holding numerous management roles and serving as a mentor to many within the company. He holds an engineering degree from the University of Lima, Peru, an MBA in marketing and corporate finance from the University of Notre Dame, and a Masters in Technology from Columbia University.

"With his breadth of experience and knowledge of global markets, Juan-Jose is an excellent choice to lead AdvaMed's Orthopedics Sector and to advocate worldwide for patient access to needed mobility technologies," said AdvaMed senior vice president Tara Federici, staff lead for the Sector.
