New 2016 Sponsorship Opportunities Announced for ANSI Network on Smart and Sustainable Cities

10/14/2015

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has announced new sponsorship opportunities for 2016 for the ANSI Network on Smart and Sustainable Cities (ANSSC), a forum for information sharing on domestic and international standards activities.

The new sponsorship opportunities are available at the $1K, $2.5K, and $5K levels, and provide a means of reaching a diverse audience of experts in smart cities technology and urban infrastructure planning and sustainable development. Benefits range from recognition in monthly news items, webinars, and marketing materials, to rotating banner ads and promotional links on ANSI web properties, to print ads, and participation in the ANSSC. The ANSSC network includes a wide array of potential business partners including companies, industry trade associations, professional societies, NGOs, government agencies, and academia, among others. Participation is open to any interested person.

The monthly ANSSC webinars feature a guest speaker and discussion on a specific initiative, followed by open information sharing about other activities that participants are engaged in. This year's webinars topics have included:

  • The Global Protocol for Community-Scale Greenhouse Gas Emission Inventories (GPC)

  • Sustainable Sites Initiative (SITES)

  • Envision Sustainable Infrastructure Rating System

  • LEED Neighborhood Development Rating System

  • City Protocol

  • American Planning Association's Smart Cities and Sustainability Task Force

  • 2030 Districts

  • ISO/IEC 27018 on "Cloud Privacy"

  • New York City Mayor's Office of Technology and Innovation

"Sponsorship demonstrates support for the notion that standards and related programs that assess conformance to standards will play a critical role in fostering the anticipated, exponential growth of the smart cities market in years to come," commented Jim McCabe, ANSI senior director of standards facilitation.
