People on the Move

8/07/2020

People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level trailblazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community.

The Electronic Components Industry Association (ECIA), a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced that David Loftus is its new president and CEO.

Mr. Loftus has worked for 35 years in high tech, gaining a deep technical and market understanding of the industry, partnering with key R&D, operations, and management executives in all major segments of the technology industry. He has served as vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for Maxim Integrated, executive vice president of worldwide sales and applications for Cypress Semiconductor, senior vice president of worldwide sales and corporate marketing for Intersil Corporation, and vice president and general manager for Spartan Products for Xilinx Inc.

"I've known David as a respected and successful semiconductor executive for several years," said Bill Bradford, former ECIA president and CEO, who stepped down at the end of March. "I am thrilled that he is taking over the leadership mantle at ECIA. His strategic vision and vast experience will be a real asset in helping the association deal with the many challenges and opportunities facing our industry."

The Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has appointed Matthew Conville as its new technical support specialist.

Mr. Conville comes to EASA from FLANDERS, where he held many positions including electrical engineer for manufacturing and repair service centers, regional service centers engineering manager, and continuous improvement principal engineer. He is a registered professional engineer whose studies focused on rotating equipment and power distribution, and he is well-versed in NEMA, IEC, and EASA standards.

"With his strong background in rotating equipment, what powers them, how they need to be controlled, and his experience and willingness to teach, Matthew is an excellent addition to our team," said EASA president and CEO Linda Raynes. "Among his many duties will be direct technical support to our members; writing a newsletter and trade press articles; seminar, webinar, and convention presentations; training development; industry representation; and more. We very much look forward to the work Matthew will do on behalf of EASA and its members."
