Register for September 7 Meeting: America Makes & ANSI Additive Manufacturing Standardization Collaborative (AMSC) on Phase 2 Launch

Free Webinar on August 17 to Provide Details on AMSC Meeting

08/14/2017

Reminder: Registration is still open for the September 7 meeting that will kick-off Phase 2 of the America Makes & ANSI Additive Manufacturing Standardization Collaborative (AMSC) in Philadelphia.

Last month, America Makes – which celebrates five years this week – and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) announced the launch of the next phase of the AMSC. Overarching goals include expanding the discussion of standards needs for polymers and other materials besides metals and engaging experts from industry sectors including automotive, heavy equipment, energy, and industrial and commercial machinery.

Since the February 2017 publication of AMSC's Standardization Roadmap for Additive Manufacturing (Version 1.0)—a document that provides a snapshot of the current additive manufacturing standards landscape— America Makes and ANSI have been working to advance the roadmap's recommendations. Stakeholders involved with Phase 2 will help to identify potentially overlooked gaps and recommendations. In addition, updates on previously identified gaps will be a focus. The target date for publication of the roadmap version 2.0 is June 2018. [See ANSI's recent coverage: America Makes and ANSI Launch Phase 2 of Additive Manufacturing Standardization Collaborative].

About AMSC's Phase 2

The AMSC meeting will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. EDT on September 7th at Penn State at The Philadelphia Navy Yard, 4960 South 12th Street, Penn State Building 661, Symposium Room, Philadelphia, PA. The draft agenda and logistical information are available on the AMSC website. Advance registration for both in-person ($30) and remote participation is required. Meeting participants should familiarize themselves with the roadmap in advance so they are prepared to contribute to the breakout group for their sector. Participation in the AMSC is open to additive manufacturing stakeholders that have operations in the U.S.

A free webinar on August 17 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm EDT will provide an overview of the AMSC and how to prepare for the September 7th meeting.
