DERKA North America has announced the appointment of
Mary-Rose Nguyen as vice president of corporate development for the DERKA Certification Group. In this role, Ms. Nguyen will grow the organization's business in North America through new assessment service offerings. She will also develop new strategic alliances and partnerships.
Prior to joining DERKA, Ms. Nguyen worked for management consulting firm Strategy Advisory as a principal. She has also served as the chief operating and strategy officer for PriTree MPS LLC, and in other executive positions for TNS Global, SGS, and Interpec. Ms. Nyugen is highly experienced in the development and implementation of performance standards, including quality management, environmental stewardship, energy efficiency, and workforce development.
DERKA Certification is a certification and verification body for international management systems. The organization works with companies to use standards for increased productivity, reduced waste, increased profits, and enhanced customer experience.
The American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) appointed Dr. Arnold "Arny" Bereson as the organization's new executive director. Dr. Bereson, who assumed his new position at the beginning of 2015, will oversee the use of the organization's resources towards their goals, guide daily operations, and act as the Society's official spokesperson.
Prior to his appointment at ASNT, Dr. Bereson held executive positions in the nonprofit sector for twenty years in organizations that include the Academy of Certified Diabetes Educators, Foresters, the Simon Youth Foundation, and the Enterprise Corporation of Tampa Bay, Florida. He holds a Ph.D. in management of nonprofit organizations as well as a master's in materials science.
ASNT, an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, is a technical society for nondestructive testing professionals that provides a forum for exchange of information, educational materials and programs, and standards and services for the qualification and certification of professionals in the field. The organization also promotes the profession and supports related research and technology applications.
